Dr Cohen Diet: Day 19

on Tuesday, February 24, 2009

I have just moved off my first plateau of the diet. I have lost another 1.1 kg (2.4 lbs) the last 2 days. My total weight lost since starting is 9.5 kg (21 lbs). Generally i feel quite well physically, although i have had a few dizzy spells here and there.

I have also noticed a lot more different diets on the market lately and it is quite interesting to see all the strange ones, ie. cookie diet, meat diet, red wine and chocolate diet, etc. It just doesn't seem natural to me these weird diets.

What puts me at ease with the 1st personal diet is the fact that it is all about food combinations and portion sizes. No pills or anything other than the food. After all, Dr Cohen says the food is the medicine for the weight loss.

Week 2 Review

on Monday, February 23, 2009

Week 2 of the diet were quite a bit more difficult than the first week. It could well be also due to the fact that i had to go on a few lunches where i could only watch people eat. I actually did cheat a bit one day when i took about 70g more steak than what is allowed for me. Generally the weekends are tougher than the week. I am also quite surprised at the ease of managing my food throughout as i were concerned that i would find it difficult to always have the right food ready.

At this stage i generally have the same breakfast (yogurt) and lunch (cheese and tomato) and then have different dinners. I quite like the cheese and tomato at this stage although i am aware that i could grow tired of it.

I have started the plateau at the end of week 2 just after i suspected it could start it did start. It is important to still be focussed although i don't lose any weight during this period. It is just a stepping stone for the next bit of weight loss.

Dr Cohen Diet: Day 13

on Wednesday, February 18, 2009

I am nearing the last day of week 2 on this diet. I have lost 8kg (17.6 lbs) in the past 12 days. I expect to find myself on a plateau soon. Apparently when you are busy with a plateau you skin are also busy with repair work as the elasticity is also higher than previously.

At this stage it seems that the weeks are generally easy when it comes to the food, but weekends is a killer for me. I will see what happens this coming weekend to see if it is the way i think it is. There is more time to think about food on weekends whereas during the week i am generally quite busy and still need to remind myself to eat even though i eat as little as i do on the diet.

I am quite curious to weigh myself tomorrow morning. I would like to hit the 10kg (22lbs) mark at the end of the 2 weeks, which is Friday morning. But tomorrow morning would be a good indicator for me if i will be able to reach that goal.

I also played a round of golf yesterday and my energy levels were good. I never felt like i am eating too little.

Dr Cohen Diet: Day 12

on Monday, February 16, 2009

Dr Cohen Diet - 1st Personal DietThis past weekend was extremely difficult being on a diet. It started on Friday with an office lunch where everybody had some nice meals. From there on i stayed hungry straight through the weekend. I actually cheated on Saturday by giving myself a bigger portion on the meat than what was allowed. Then on Sunday i constantly had thoughts about maybe taking a different route on this diet by allowing myself to eat here and there.

In the end i did something great upfront. That was by telling a lot of people about my diet and what my goals were. Now i need to stick to it just for the reason that i created the expectation with a lot of other people. Today was much better, which was the case last week aswell seeing that i am busy whole day working.

I need to push through as it is only a short period of time on this diet and it is a lifetime's investment in my health.

Week 1 Review

on Saturday, February 14, 2009

I feel i was successful with the diet in the first week. Lost 5kg (11 lbs) in this week with no "cheats" whatsoever. The food is fine, although i am a bit tired of mushrooms at the moment...will have to leave it for a few days. I am still not consuming the necessary amount of water to get rid of the toxins, but i will try. It is very important for the weight loss to consume the water as it also affects the growth hormone (HGH). The growth hormone is the main "ingredient" in this diet.

Dr Cohen Diet: Day 7

on Thursday, February 12, 2009

This is my day 7 on the 1st personal diet. Tomorrow morning i would be able to see what have i achieved in the first week of the diet. I must say it has been very easy up to now. Just this morning i told my wife that there is no need at this stage to prepare food specially just to make it interesting as i don't find it boring yet. Being the first time for me on any sort of diet, i can't believe the ease of it. I am sure it is all to do with the attitude anyone takes on a diet. I knew i had to do something for my own health and to be able to play more with my baby. Without the aches and pains ;) I am looking forward to tomorrow morning to see what my new weight is. I am convinced that anybody would be able to go on a diet as long as they really want to lose weight. Hold thumbs for tomorrow :)

Dr Cohen Diet: Day 6

on Wednesday, February 11, 2009

This is now day 6 of my diet. So far i feel i have handled it quite well with no adverse feelings against the diet. I would say day 3 of the diet was probably my most difficult day. In the 5 days that has passed i have lost a total of 4.7kg (10.3 lbs). I am not sure if it is visible for anyone that hasn't seen me in a while. Today was the first time i ate at a restaurant since being on the diet. It went quite well seeing that it was a fish restaurant. Had a couple of prawns and salad. The weight loss up to now has been a strong motivator for me. I just need to up my water consumption as i am not yet drinking the minimum of 2lt per day yet. It is just a matter of doing it.

1st Personal Diet: My Breakdown

Dr Cohen Diet - Scale
Ok, as promised, here is my breakdown of the 1st personal diet by Dr Cohen.

It is mainly a protein diet with lots of emphasis on the amounts that you consume. It is also important not to mix proteins without a 5 hour gap in between. There is no starch at all in this diet. This then stimulates the growth hormone which then starts off the weight loss process.

Seeing that fat stores a lot of toxins it is also important to consume more than 2 lt of water daily to flush the toxins out of your system.

A huge side effect of this diet is: weight loss :)

Dr Cohen Diet: Day 3

on Sunday, February 8, 2009

Today has been quite a low point since i started on this diet. My energy levels are down and all i can think about is all the food that i like. It seems that it is somewhat common on this diet in the first week. It seems everybody find it much easier from week 2.

I know i shouldn't weigh everyday, but for the sake of record keeping, i will be weighing quite often. So far after 2 full days on the diet i have lost 2.7 kg's (5.95 lbs).

I will give a short summary of what the Dr Cohen diet (1st personal diet) entails next.

Day 2 Continued

on Saturday, February 7, 2009

I am quite hungry at the moment and can't eat anything. Since yesterday i had a constant hunger which wasn't too serious, but i would really have liked to be able to eat something now...oh well have to push through with the diet
